Outside Perspectives Enters the Community Conversation
In the spirit of collaboration and community building, Outside Perspectives Directors recently participated in the Connecticut Community Foundation's Nonprofit Community Conversation hosted at Naugatuck Valley Community College this past Friday. This event brought together nonprofit leaders, community members, and municipal leaders to connect, share, and discuss the path to a brighter tomorrow.
The Connecticut Community Foundation, guided by its mission to foster an equitable and inclusive community in Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills, organized this gathering with a compelling goal. They aimed to unite people around a shared vision for the future while engaging in intentional conversations about the community. The Foundation, present and listening, gathered feedback to share with the community, nonprofit organizations, and municipal leaders.
Nicky, Lauren, and Liza sat at different tables alongside other nonprofit leaders and community members at the event. Everyone at the table had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share about their organization and mission. But what truly ignited the spirit of collaboration was the question posed to each table: "What does an equitable, inclusive, and thriving region/community look like in our future?"
Drawing on the collective wisdom at each table, each group crafted a vision illustrating their response and shared it with the room. After hearing what everyone had come up with, each table discussed what would be needed to turn these visions into reality.
brainstorming, and potential collaborations among nonprofit leaders. The Connecticut Community Foundation's Nonprofit Community Conversation catalyzed unity, innovation, and a shared commitment to building a brighter future. Outside Perspectives is proud to have been part of this event, and the connections made, and visions shared will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the nonprofit community and the community they serve.
